Objectives :-The objective behind the establishment of EDI is for imparting entrepreneurship and skill development training to the first generation entrepreneurs and to extend help and support in the establishment of enterprises in the State. The youths of the State would most benefit out of such training institute. This is first of its kind in the NE Region.

The Department has managed to convince State Government and NEC Shillong to meet the priority works within the Institution.
- Under SPA an amount of Rs.125.00 Lakhs was sanctioned during 2010-11 for C/o Boundary Wall and Approach Road both completed. During 2011-12 under SPA sanctioned an amounts of Rs.40.40 Lakhs and 45.00 Lakhs for C/o Internal Road and Residential Building (Hostel)
- During 2012-13 NEC sanctioned Rs.229.56 Lakhs. for the following works:-
